Rhythm and Blues (R&B) Colombo Hits the High Notes with Void Acoustics
Colombo, 04.08.2024: Rhythm and Blues, one of Sri Lanka’s renowned and long-standing clubs, continues to reign as the cornerstone of the country’s nightlife scene. Located in the heart of Colombo, this iconic club has cemented its reputation as a must-visit destination for music lovers, offering a wide selection of tunes in a vibrant, atmospheric setting.
Heard Void through the grapevine
In 2024, Rhythm and Blues sought to overhaul its sound system to improve its sound quality. Digital Ear, Sri Lanka’s distributor of Void Acoustics, recommended Void to R&B based on a long list of successful projects with Void’s products, knowing that Void’s range of powerful sound systems would complement the club’s stylistic flair.
Russel Fernando, owner of the club, expressed his thoughts, “We had many problems with our previous sound setup, with issues almost every day. After Digital Ear demoed a Void Acoustics system, I was convinced it would be the right solution for us.”
The biggest challenge for the installation was tackling the uneven sound distribution. Digital Ear knew it was essential to strategically place and optimize the speakers to ensure consistent and balanced audio quality across all areas of the club. They meticulously planned and tested the layout, ensuring that every beat and note would be felt and heard with clarity and precision throughout the venue, enhancing the overall enjoyment of guests.
The new system features a range of Void speakers, including two Air Vantage loudspeakers, two Stasys 218 subwoofers, two Venu 12 V2 speakers, and Void’s Bias Q2 and Q1.5 amplifiers.
